A Trip Back in Time… Russ and Barbie’s Engagement Photo Session
While you can’t really go back in time to have a first-hand look at vintage fashions of the 1950s, you can get as close to that experience as possible by looking through Rus and Barbie’s engagement photos. And that’s exactly the decade we felt we were in while we shot them on the beach off Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
Barbie and Russ played the role of a couple in the 50s perfectly as their look didn’t leave out a single detail. For their ‘picnic on the beach’, complete with Frank Sinatra records, polka dotted blanket, and old-school brown glass bottles, Barbie wore a tight lace bodice, fitted pencil skirt, vintage peep-toe Mary Janes, endless strands of pearls, Chanel bracelets, vintage Ray Bans, and a Louis Vuitton headscarf. Russ sported a classic collared shirt, trousers, bow-tie, suspenders, and completed his ensemble with a black fedora.

It’s always a treat for us to break away from the busy event scene and shoot two people in love. The newly engaged Felicia and Andrew met us for their Engagement Photo Session in the colorful and artsy Miami neighborhood of Wynwood. Not only were they our ‘subjects’ for a day, they were also our dinner dates! After grabbing a delicious dinner at Wynwood Walls, we continued their Engagement shoot with the city lights as out backdrop.
